Art & Feelings

Artists transform their ideas, opinions and feelings into visual art. Looking at art too has to do with feelings: the artwork evokes a feeling in the viewer. By looking at art together with children, they learn how to put their feelings into words, yet they also learn that these feelings may be different for everyone. Art helps to feel, recognise, identify and acknowledge emotions. This way, children increase their social and emotional skills and learn to deal with themselves and others.

During a guided Arts & Feelings tour, the theme can be a feeling (with all its variants) or several feelings. Through language, drama, music, pictures, stories, visual assignments etc., children also get the opportunity to express their feelings. Just like an artist does with a work of art.

For school groups applying for a guided tour, M HKA is open from Tuesday to Friday from 9:00 on.
