Art & Critical Thinking

Contemporary art rarely is well-behaved. It challenges us to put the evident into question and to think about life, society and art. During the guided tour Art and Critical Thinking, youngsters are challenged to form their own opinion on the artworks with an open and critical mind.

Emphasising openness and respect for other opinions, youngsters engage in conversation about art works, the arts and museums. Each time, the guide comes up with new questions and challenges, while he approaches the subject philosophically. How do we interpret artworks? What influence do images have on our emotions and on our thinking? What is the social impact of this visual culture? What is art?

However, dialogue is not an end in itself, but is intended to challenge the pupils and to make them look more attentively and critically.
