On Saturday afternoon, you can join a guided visit to the Panamarenko House. Experience a magical moment in Panamarenko’s universe.
The house & atelier of Antwerp artist Panamarenko is the must do for young and old. You’ll get to see hovering structures, flying backpacks, helicopters with pedals, zeppelins, cockchafers, submarines, walking chickens and a real helicopter platform on the roof.
“I am neither a scientist nor someone who makes art objects. The important thing for me is that occasionally there is a kind of poetry in what I make.”
Panamarenko’s artistic trajectory from the 1960s onwards is internationally renowned. That most of his oeuvre was created in his studio-cum-home is less well known. After leaving the city, he donated the building and its entire contents to the M HKA in 2007. The museum restored the building and reconstructed Panamarenko’s world down to the smallest details, so that the house steadily evolved from an authentic artist’s home to a total work of art and monument for the Seefhoek.
