Activities

Action in Antwerp! The passionate M HKA art historian and Academy lecturer Piet Van Hecke invites you for a free crash course in the history of happenings and performances in Antwerp.

Meet Bruno Zhu. Bruno Zhu lives and works between Portugal and the Netherlands. Through an artistic practice that combines fashion design, writing and publishing, and scenography, Zhu challenges the normative constraints that narrow our thinking and reinforce the dynamics of social reproduction.

Join us on Saturday 15 March for the public launch of the first comprehensive monograph, Elen Braga, published by MER. Books, celebrating 15 years of work by Belgian-Brazilian artist Elen Braga.

Join us in celebrating the opening of a new exhibition season. Free entry and a drink, with a DJ at M HKAFE.

Join us to celebrate the 1,000,062nd birthday of art! You’re invited to ART'S BIRTHDAY at M HKA on 17 January. Free entry, great company, and an abundance of art!

What to do with your children during the Christmas holidays? Come to the M HKA for a series of creative and unconventional activities.

Children up to 12 years old can enjoy a day of fun at the museum, as this year we are completely Crazy for Art! We’ll be exploring the art of clowning: we’ll play tricks on people while also holding up a mirror to them. On this day, M HKA will also launch its brand new philosophical card game, FiloSpook.

What does it mean to be on the ‘right’ side of history? Nástio Mosquito inspires us to reflect on the difference between truth and lies, between certainty and clarity. In this context, we invite you to join our Philosophical Café, in the presence of the artist, moderated by philosopher Gideon Hakker.

Celebrate the opening of a new exhibition season with us. On Thursday evening, 10 October, M HKA will open its doors, free to the public, to kick off the autumn season together. That evening, in the presence of the artists, you can explore a whole new range of exhibitions.
