Art & Society

The guided tour Art and society will look at the relationship between art and its surroundings. Art is about as old as the human being. The youngsters explore art as a means for the human to shape his/her world, to deal with it and to express his/her vision on this world.

In which way are artworks linked to the times and societies in which we live? The youngsters, inspired by various artworks, think actively about the role of art (and by extension, of the artist and the museum) in society. Should, or can, artists play a role in society? Can you imagine a society without art? Which influence does society exert on art? Which influence does art exert on the world?
