FOCUS: Technology

Guided Tour, In depth

7 Mar 2027, 14:00 - 16:00

Where are the boundaries between humans, nature and technology?

We explore how artists respond to biological and technological developments. What questions do these raise about our bodies and our future?

The session on Sunday 7 March 2027 is subject to confirmation. Details of the guest will follow. Stay up to date with our newsletter.

What is FOCUS?

One Sunday a month, we take a closer look at a theme in the work of Lee Bul. FOCUS takes place at Muhka during the exhibition Lee Bul: From 1998 to Now. Each guest brings a different perspective on her work through a performance, conversation or talk, drawing on their own practice. You then join a guide in the exhibition to look more closely at selected works.

About the theme

In Lee Bul’s work, technology reflects our fascination with progress. Her sculptures often refer to futuristic thinking that sees technology as a way to improve the world and extend the body’s capabilities. But how dependent do we become on the technology we develop? And what if progress also brings new limitations?
