Guy Woueté is a multidisciplinary artist whose work critiques Western influence on Africa. In his talk, he explores how the Western worldview continues to shape artistic identity and practice.

Meet Bruno Zhu. Bruno Zhu lives and works between Portugal and the Netherlands. Through an artistic practice that combines fashion design, writing and publishing, and scenography, Zhu challenges the normative constraints that narrow our thinking and reinforce the dynamics of social reproduction.

Before the summer break, Vedran Kopljar will close the first serie of FRONT ROW with an artist talk sharing a deep dive into his practice and MEAN, his first institutional solo exhibition, currently on view at M HKA.

For his participation in the FRONT ROW artist talks programme at M HKA, Halloubi will screen his film work Un après-midi à Larache (2015-2016) about writer and activist Jean Genet, before a conversation on his filmic practice.

This event is organised within the framework of FRONT ROW, a new monthly series of artist's talks jointly organised by M HKA and NICC. Serving as an open format to artists – whether a talk, a presentation of an idea, a lecture performance – the programme offers the opportunity to reflect on art, culture and society by some of the most thought-provoking artists practising today.
