During Schatten van Vlieg, children and families can look differently this summer at the exhibition Nicola L. — When the Earth Turned the Other Way at Muhka.
With a Kijk anders booklet, you can visit the exhibition independently. In July and August, there are also family tours, a Family Day and activities for different ages.

At Muhka, children can discover the exhibition Nicola L. — When the Earth Turned the Other Way in a playful way this summer. Through assignments, looking, drawing and conversations, the exhibition takes on a form that connects with children and their companions.

Family tours
Every Sunday in July and August, except 12 July, families with children aged 6 and over can join a guided tour of the exhibition from 11:00 to 12:15.
Travel through her life and work – from Paris and Ibiza to Brussels and New York. Children aged 6 and over and their companions discover how Nicola L. connected art with daily life, the body, and ideas about equality and freedom.
Family Day
On Sunday 12 July, the exhibition is dedicated to families from 11:00 to 17:00.
Children and their companions spend the day exploring the exhibition. There are activities for different ages, from toddler tours and family tours to workshops, sewing sessions, a screen-printing pop-up and ongoing assignments in Het Salon. Waffles are available in M HKAFE.

Kijk anders booklet
Especially for families, there is a booklet that lets you look differently at the exhibition. Through play and creativity, you can discover the exhibition independently. The Kijk anders booklet is available free of charge at Reception and can be used during the museum opening hours.

About the exhibition
The French artist Nicola L. (1932–2018) began making soft textile sculptures, environments and participatory performances in the late 1960s. Use, touch and collective experience are central. The exhibition at Muhka brings together an overview of her practice, with sculptures, graphic novels, performances, films and paintings.
