Bookpresentation Nicola L. — I Am The Last Woman Object
30 Oct 2025, 18:00 - 19:00
Discover the radical, playful and activist practice of Nicola L. (1932–2018) through the new, richly illustrated monograph I Am The Last Woman Object. This book explores the layered and multifaceted nature of her extraordinary practice.
On 30 October, during Muhka Laat, we present the book and engage in a conversation about Nicola L.’s multidisciplinary oeuvre.
About the book
This monograph highlights Nicola L.’s practice from new, international perspectives. It frames her work in relation to Pop Art, feminism, activism and design, but also cosmology, ecology, spirituality and political movements.
Scholarly essays and supplementary texts on key works in her oeuvre provide fresh insights into her practice. The book reflects on her life in Paris, Ibiza, Beirut and New York, placing Nicola L. within the politics and social movements of her time. At the same time, it brings her work into the present by situating it within today’s social, political and ecological challenges.
