Artist talk

During the artist talk, Aline Bouvy will explore shame as a social construct, using dark humour and surreal imagery to question the norms that define which bodies are accepted, controlled, or excluded.

About Aline Bouvy

Aline Bouvy is a multidisciplinary artist living and working between Belgium and Luxembourg. In 2026, she represents Luxembourg at the 61st Venice Biennale with the newly commissioned debut film La Merde. Her work explores the relationships between bodies, spaces, and systems of representation, using a feminist perspective and the subversion of established conventions to question social norms.

Her practice engages with what is often rejected as taboo, abject, or aesthetically undesirable. These elements often become tools for questioning the moral and cultural norms that govern our perceptions. Bouvy’s work invites viewers into deeply sensory encounters that challenge conventional ways of seeing and experiencing.
