During their presentation at Muhka, The Question of Funding introduces the evolving Dayra model and explores how trust and shared resources can support alternative cultural infrastructures.
About The Question of Funding
The Question of Funding is a collective of artists and activists that reflects on the economies shaping cultural production and the influence of funding structures on artistic practices. Beginning from the Palestinian context, the collective examines the dependency on international donor funding and explores alternative, community-driven models of cultural sustainability.
Central to their practice is Dayra — Arabic for ‘circle’ or ‘circulation’ — an evolving economic model based on trust, reciprocity and the shared value of human, material, natural and intellectual resources. Dayra was first presented at documenta fifteen in 2022.
