From 1974 to 1982, cultural centre King Kong was a vibrant space in Antwerp where film, debate, and activism came together. In addition to offering a broad spectrum of film classics and contemporary auteur cinema, King Kong also served as a platform for socially critical documentaries, feminist films, queer cinema, and revolutionary Third Cinema.

The archive presentation at M HKA offered, for the first time, an overview of Today's Place's most significant projects—videos of performances and photos of exhibitions—complemented by historical printed matter, magazines, and posters.

Fifty years after Art Systems in Latin America first set foot in Antwerp, M HKA dedicated an archival presentation to the exhibition.

The exhibition 'Opting for art' revisited three influential contemporary art shows from the Visual Arts programme of Antwerp '93, Cultural Capital of Europe. Through archival material, it reflected on their role and relevance in Belgian art history more than thirty years on.

Muhka paid tribute to Marcel van Maele, a rebellious poet, performer and artist who viewed art as a means of transforming consciousness. The presentation featured idiosyncratic assemblages, bottled poems and hermetic objects from the period 1972–2002, prompted by a generous donation from collector Jef Debacker.

This retrospective exhibition focused on the publishing house Multi-Art, founded by artist Paul Ibou (1939–2023) and his wife Liliane-Emma Staal.
