A museum visit with children does not have to be quiet, restrained or complicated. During Family Day, you explore contemporary art together in a way that invites looking, moving, making and talking.
With the Salon, family tours, a workshop, screen printing and waffles, there is space throughout the day to shape your visit at your own pace.

Family Day brings together free exploration and activities tailored to families. You can drop in freely, join an activity or stay where it feels right. In this way, your museum visit becomes a day that matches your own rhythm.
What is there to do?
The Salon
The Salon is a permanent place in the museum for young visitors and their families. You will find museum games and treasure hunts, creative assignments and picture books there. It is an inviting space to discover and experiment together, and to look at art in a different way.
Toddler tour
For the very youngest visitors there is the M HKADEE toddler tour: a gentle, sensory-guided tour for brave toddlers and their carers. The art invites them to touch, smell, listen and move, entirely tailored to young children in a museum setting.
Family tours
During Family Day there are guided tours especially for families: playful, accessible and attuned to the way children look and ask questions. The guide starts from wonder and conversation, with attention to themes and sensory experience.
Workshop
In the afternoon you can join a workshop freely. Children and adults work together in an open making session, each time with its own emphasis in dialogue with the exhibitions.
Screen printing
Screen printing is a crowd favourite: quick, surprising and accessible to everyone. You go home with your own print, a tangible memory of your visit.
Waffles in the M HKAFE
During Family Day you can also take a short break in the M HKAFE. In the afternoon waffles are provided, ideal for a pause during your visit.

Tickets
- Admission with a valid admission ticket
- On Family Day, the reduced rate of €8 applies.
- Children up to and including 17 years old have free admission.
